Environmental Issues

I am passionate about the environment, wilderness and urban, and believe that a balance is possible between pleasant lifestyles and ecological sustainability in urban and rural communities.

I am totally opposed to the Gunns pulp mill on the Tamar River in Tasmania.

I support a national water management program, the preservation of all old growth forests, the promotion of eco-tourism and the fostering of a non-polluting, plantation timber and woodchip industry.

I believe that government, the community and industry can benefit from co-operative planning and implementation of environmentally sustainable and socially supportive urban and rural projects and productivity.
